Electric blue dreadlocks and enough energy to rock the crowds, Moonchild Sanelly is one of the leading voices on the gqom scene. Her songs talk to the feet as well as the head since they’ll have you dancing while getting to grips with issues rarely addressed in a club, such as the difficulty of making a name for oneself on Johannesburg’s night scene when you’re a woman. But that’s not all, because the cream of South Africa’s electro-queer scene will gather on the shores of the Rhone with Angel-Ho, visionary pop artist/performer and Gyre, conscious queer rapper who released “Queernomics” in early 2018 – a trap bomb filled with killer lines. The programme also features an essential Geneva artist: Maïté Chénière, aka DJ Mighty, founder of House of Butch Xtravaganza, who’ll invite you to sweat on a dancefloor viewed as a safe space and a place of freedom and expression for the LGBTQIA community.
