They owed their first gig in Switzerland to Antigel back in 2015 on the cosy stage of La Gravière. Here they come again in 2018, appeased but up for the challenge.
The fellows from Feu! Chatterton might’ve looked a little conceited, or is it just that we’re not used to so much space between the strings of a guitar? Texts immersed at the deep end of literature, voices that swirl above decades past, the Parisians set their own bar very high four years ago with “Ici le jour (a tout enseveli)”. After more than 250 poetic and fiery gigs, they now return with “L’Oiseleur”, a collection of classy songs and electric lyrics. Feu! Chatterton is a great novel whose pages are replaced by loud decibels that are both popular and ambitious, where melodies are written with the same high standards as the world that surrounds them.
