Working daily in the gigantic Maré favela in Rio de Janeiro, Lia Rodrigues and her dancers will come to Geneva for the very first time with FÚRIA.

Established in 1990 in Maré, the Lia Rodrigues Companhia de Danças, Art & Society aims to foster reflection through its productions and fight against poverty thanks to its social involvement. The company’s works, profoundly marked by daily poverty and violence, are emotional outlets as well as calls for change. Lia Rodrigues addresses alternativeness in all its forms because, as she explains, “making art is a never-ending process” – the process of rebuilding and re-enchanting the world.
